The Camp site has river frontage stretching nearly 1km,offering plenty of opportunity for expansion
/development. The lodge and chalets are on the side of the hill and the campsite is on level, shaded
ground. Water is provided by a borehole on site and can also be pumped directly from river if necessary
Security here is not a problem at all . The rural areas of Zambia are very law abiding and peaceful.
Luangwa River : it is fast flowing all year but the level varies greatly between wet and dry seasons (it
can rise up to 8 metres in January/February).
In the dry season (May to November) we have sand
banks showing the main channel, which is on our side of the river ,is always 6-8 metres deep.
It is navigable by our cat-canoes most of the year – the only time we do out is in the main rainy season,
January to March, when the volume of the water is too great and the current too strong for safety
Activities: (All accompanied by our experienced guides and /or paddlers) We do half and full day canoe trips and a sundowner which is about 2 hours late afternoon and very popular.
We include beer , wine, and soft drinks in the price of the sundowner. There are tiger, bream, barbell and kapenta in the river for those interested in fishing.
We offer longer trips involving trekking in July and August. Our Canoes follow the groups up river
carrying all their kits and meet up with them for lunch and in the evening.
They usually get to Chipinda Gorge on the Lunsemfwa River (a tributary of the Luangwa River) on the third day . On the
last day they all get on the canoes and float back down river to Bridge Camp
